My name is Joseph Layne. My Dad is in your photo. He is in the third row down from the top, the 9th one over from the right. His name is Joe Layne.

He was in company A, 117th engineers. His rank was Tech 5. He was awarded the Bronze Star on April 28th, 1944 for the battle at Luguyen Gulf.

I have this same picture plus a few more. I can email you some if you would like. Some may not have appropriate content.

Thank you for putting this site together about the brave men of the 117th.

remember what Company he was in. He died 27Sep1986 and is buried Clark Field
